About the Workshop
P3W6 is the 6th and last Workshop under Project 3 (P3), Metadata on Natural Gas Resources in the CCOP Region of the EPPM Program and organized by the CCOP Technical Secretariat in cooperation with the Cambodia National Petroleum Authority (CNPA). The objective is to further enhance the knowledge of data managers and encoders from the Member Countries on database management. Leveraging on the experiences and lessons learned from the Member and Cooperating Countries of CCOP.
Prior to the P3W6, a special 2-day training (13-14 March) was conducted for CNPA, Myanmar and Lao-PDR representatives on how to use the CCOP Geo-information Metadata System (GIMS)- starting with a lecture on the concept of metadata, how the GIMS is structured, levels of authority/responsibility for data managers and encoders and exercises on data screening/input/output using national data. The training was facilitated by Dr. Zhang Minghua, leader of China Geological Survey (CGS) metadata team and assisted by Ms. Qiao Jihua and the CCOP Technical Secretariat. The training also prepared the participants for P3W6.
