GW-6: Report of the CCOP-GSJ/AIST-NAWAPI Groundwater Phase III Project Meeting, 16-18 March 2016, Hanoi, Vietnam, Oct-2016

The CCOP-GSJ/AIST-NAWAPI Groundwater Project Phase III Meeting was held on 16-18 March 2016, in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was attended by nineteen participants from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and the CCOP Technical Secretariat.  In the meeting, participants confirmed progress of the project from February 2015 to March 2016, and discussed work plan for 2016 by three group discussions. Each CCOP Member Country made a country presentation on the topic, “Recent Groundwater Issues and Their Action Study”. Since the current groundwater problem varies from one CCOP member country to another because of various hydrogeological and geographical settings, each Member Country should share the information for efficient groundwater management in the CCOP regions.

50th Year Anniversary of CCOP - Unveiling Stories in Geoscience Development for Society, September 2016

This book is in form of a pictorial history of 50 years of CCOP (meetings, programmes, personalities, events from the CCOP archive, from Member Countries, Cooperating Countries and personal archives). There are 3 main parts: Part 1 described the beginning and growing of CCOP during the first 20 years (written by Dr Antony Reedman); Part 2 summarized major changes of CCOP until 2004 (written by Dr Antony Reedman); and Part 3 highlighted challenges and solutions raised by CCOP member countries. All member countries have been contributing one or more pages in the book.

Stone Heritage of East and Southeast Asia, March-2016

This book covers some of the representative examples of stone heritage in East and Southeast Asia (the CCOP region) regardless of their size, scale and age; miniature or gigantic; from ancient to modern. The editors hope that the book will help readers to learn about the geological background of the heritage of the CCOP region and extend their interest in the local geology and eventually the history of our planet.
