Special Reports of the CCOP-DMR-MISAWA-GSJ Workshop for Application of Groundwater Heat Source, Nov-2021

GSJ in cooperation with Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) and Akita University (Japan) has introduced the Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) System in CCOP Regions since April 2013. In April 2019, DMR, CCOP, GSJ together with MISAWA Environmental Technology of Japan have agreed to continue the project of Energy-saving Cooling System using a Groundwater Heat Source, funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). They have convened a very important workshop on GSHP during the 55th CCOP Annual Session in 2019 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

This publication contains papers and presentations at the CCOP-DMR-MISAWA-GSJ Workshop for Application of Groundwater Heat Source on 5 November 2019, held in parallel with the 55th CCOP Annual Session in Chiangmai, Thailand.

GW-10: Report of the CCOP-GSJ-GAI Groundwater Project Phase IV Kick-off Meeting, 2-4 December 2019, Bali, Indonesia, Dec-2020

The CCOP-GSJ-GAI Groundwater Project Phase IV Kick-off Meeting was held in Bali, Indonesia on 2-4 December 2019. The meeting was hosted by Geological Agency of Indonesia (GAI). It was attended by 28 participants from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and the CCOP Technical Secretariat. In the meeting, participants confirmed the outcome of the CCOP-GSJ Groundwater Project Phase III and discussed the plans for the Phase IV.

Each CCOP member country made a presentation on the topic of “Issues and improvement ideas for the Phase III Groundwater Database” (DB1 & DB2 Groups) and “Present hydrogeological data and problem for making groundwater database” (Public Policy Group). All the member countries discussed on the groundwater database compilation planned for the Phase IV.

This publication compiles all the country reports presented in the CCOP-GSJ-GAI Groundwater Phase IV Kick-off Meeting.

GW-9: Technical Report of the CCOP-GSJ Groundwater Project Phase III , Nov-2019

This “Technical Report on CCOP Groundwater Project Phase III” consists of the followings which the CCOP-GSJ-GA Groundwater Project Phase III Meeting in Bali, Indonesia, decided partially revised GW-7 and GW-8:

  1. Report on the present status and future plan of hydrogeological maps in each country,
  2. Explanation documents on the groundwater database of the country’s capital city or representative area registered on the GSi Groundwater Portal by the DB Groups I and II.
  3. Public policy for the groundwater observation system created/proposed/developed by the Public Policy Group.

Magnetic Anomaly Map of East and Southeast Asia, Revised Version (3rd Edition), Feb-2021

Magnetic Anomaly Map of East and Southeast Asia, Revised Version (3rd Edition) was published in February 2021, as a product of the CCOP-GSJ MAMEA project “Compilation and Publication of a Revised Magnetic Anomaly Map of East Asia at 1:4,000,000” (2016-2020). The Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ) and CCOP published the Magnetic Anomaly Map of East Asia 1:4,000,000 CD-ROM Version (2nd Edition) in 2002. The 3rd Edition map covers most of the East and Southeast Asia region with an area of 12˚S-46˚N and 93˚E-160˚E, using old and new aeromagnetic and marine magnetic data collected by CCOP Member Countries and other organizations.

This is the proceedings of the Thematic Session held at the 54th CCOP Annual Session on 30 October 2018 in Busan,

GW-8: Report of the CCOP-GSJ-MME Groundwater Project Phase III Meeting, 5-7 March 2018, Siem Reap, Cambodia, Feb-2019

The CCOP-GSJ-MME Groundwater Project Phase III Meeting was held on 5-7 March 2018, in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was attended by 24 participants from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand, and the CCOP Technical Secretariat. Representatives from Safe Water Supply Team Cambodia and UNESCO-Bangkok were also presented. In the meeting, participants confirmed progress of the project from March 2017 to March 2018, and discussed work plan for 2018 by three group discussions.

Each CCOP Member Country made a country presentation on the topic,“Explanation documents for the country’s capital city or representative area” (DB1& DB2) and “Public policy for Groundwater observation system ” (Public Policy Group). Since the current groundwater problem varies from one CCOP member country to another because of various hydrogeological and geographical settings, each Member Country should share the information for efficient hydrogeological map in the CCOP regions.

CCOP Book on Best Practices of Mine Rehabilitation and Decommissioning Programmes of Success Stories in East and Southeast Asia, Oct-2018

This CCOP’s book project on the "Best Practices of Mine Rehabilitation and Decommissioning Programmes of Success Stories in East and Southeast Asia” was originally proposed by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Republic of the Philippines in 2013. The proposal was aimed to encourage CCOP Member Countries to participate in the project and contribute their successful case studies of how the mining companies have taken their efforts to maintain and protect the environments and their mining locations. This book project officially started in 2015 with a total of three meetings in 2015, 2017 and 2018. The majority of the Member Countries have participated in this activity.
