Welcome to the EPPM Program homepage

Here you will find the latest information about the CCOP - Norway Program for Enhancing Public Petroleum Management of the CCOP Member Countries (EPPM Program), the 3 Projects under the EPPM Program, the capacity building case studies and workshops under each Projects, dissemination seminars, information about the recently conducted Workshops as well as of past Workshops/Seminars and upcoming events. 

The EPPM Program is a 4-year program commencing in July 2008 and is funded by the Norwegian Government to benefit the CCOP Member Countries.  The goal is to create the highest possible value for society from petroleum resources in order to improve the quality of life of the people in the CCOP Member Countries.  For the implementation of the technical activities, CCOP partnered with the Norwegian International Programme for Petroleum Management and Administration (PETRAD) and Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).




EPPM Seminar/Workshop (S6): Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Opportunities in the CCOP Region, 12-14 September 2012, Bali, Indonesia

This is the 6th Annual Seminar / Workshop (S5) that supports the technical activities of the EPPM Program and participated by representatives from Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.  The objectives are to enhance the knowledge of the CCOP Member Countries with the current state-of-the-art in carbon capture and storage and discuss the opportunities of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in the region.

Seminar/Workshop: Evaluation of CO2 Storage Potential, Bandung, Indonesia, 10-11 December 2012

The Seminar/workshop was organized by the CCOP Technical Secretariat in cooperation with PETRAD and Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Geological Agency Indonesia and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). The aims are to enhance the knowledge of the participants on the role of CCS in mitigating the impact of GHG to climate changes, assessment of potential geological storage of CO2 and to prepare the participants for their important role as a case study country in the CCOP CO2 Storage Mapping Program (CCS-M).

EPPM P1W6: North Sumatra - Mergui Basin Case Study: Risking of Petroleum Plays and Prospects, 4-7 September 2012, Sabah, Malaysia

P1W6 is the 6th workshop under Project 1 (P1),Petroleum Resource Management with focus on Natural Gas ofthe EPPM Program and organized by the CCOP Technical Secretariat with the cooperation of PETRONAS, Malaysia.  The objective is to continue with the basin analysis of North Sumatra – Mergui basin (cross-border case study) in order to have a better understanding of the big geologic picture of the basin to enhance geological interpretations and predictions – translating into higher drilling success rates. 

·         Enhance the knowledge of the participants in identifying the various play types in the case study basin and potential risks on these plays, and

·         to perform prospect / play risking and volumetric calculation.

A geological fieldwork was organized by PETRONAS in Labuan Island to look into shallow marine and deep water formation outcrops that are analogues to the case study basin.
